OUR ORIGINS

Hand Made Blues is the title of a song I wrote and recorded. 

It's a song of restoration and hope.

 

Being a musician, I realize that musical instruments have a history and hold memories. Not wanting to discard old instruments, I began creating works of art, mostly in the form of lamps from musical instruments.

 

Damaged, unwanted or simply musical instruments that hold memories of times or people.

These instruments together with used, mostly vintage lamps are my medium.

 

Music and Light. the two catalysts for my art lamps. Merged together they once again become useful and each unique. 

Reclaimed, repurposed, recycled, restored and reusable.

 

A clarinet sitting in the garage, a trombone a family member used to play, a trumpet, snare drum or Saxaphone.

 

On most lamps I make, at the portal where the cord enters, there is etched a small cross.  

The portal is where the power enters the lamp to produce light. 

It's a visual reminder that the source of light is God, and the power of light always overcomes darkness. 

 

Look through the existing inventory of lamps, or bring to me your own musical instrument and together we'll come up with a bright idea.
